YOUNGER CHILDREN
WEDNESDAYS FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN
The Christian Education (CE) Committee offers two programs for birth through 2nd grade to coincide with Wednesday programming for grades 3-12.
GLC (God’s Loving Care) for infants – 3 year olds
GLC will be in the Toddler Room (207). In addition to lots of TLC (tender loving care), there will be play time, Bible story time, and a response activity. They will join older children and youth for dinner in Eversull Hall. GLC begins at 5:30 and ends at 8:00 pm.
GFF (God’s Faithful Friends) for ages 4 – 2nd grade
After being signed in outside Rooms 201 and 202, GFF will have game time, prayer time, dinner in Eversull Hall, worship in the Chapel with PYC, Bible story time, and response time with craft or service. GFF’s curriculum is called “Friends and Family in Faith.” GFF begins at 5:30 pm and ends at 7:30 pm. Homework Club will follow until 8:00 pm in the Vista Room (206) for those with older siblings in KIX and TIM or those whose parents practice with the Chancel Choir.
SUNDAY MORNINGS
FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN
Childcare for infants through age 3
Children are very important to us. For this reason, childcare is provided for our infants and toddlers on Sunday mornings from 7:30 am through the 10:30 am worship service. The Crib Room (for infants up to 18 months) and the Toddler Room (for 18 months up to the age of 3) are located in the hallway between the Chapel and the Sanctuary. Children are, of course, always welcome to stay in worship.
Sunday School, 9:15 am, for ages 3 - PreK
Preschool Sunday School Class
This class meets in the Room 207 and is for children who have turned 3 through pre-kindergarten. Caring teaching teams use the Growing in Grace and Gratitude curriculum based on biblical stories. The sessions incorporate a wide range of activities such as storytelling, music, crafts, and movement. It's a great way for your young one to learn more about God and the Bible, along with creating personal connections with their peers.
During 10:30 am Worship Service - Children's Chapel
for children ages 3 through 3rd grade
First United recognizes the importance of even our youngest members experiencing worship with the rest of our faith community. During the 10:30 worship service, all children ages 3 and up attend the first part of the worship service with their families. After the pastor shares time with the children, at approximately 10:40, students ages 3 through 3rd grade leave with adult Worship Leaders and Greeters to attend their own carefully designed, age appropriate worship time in Children's Chapel. Parents are also always welcome to keep their children with them in worship.
